New vintage handsaws refurbished and available today!
Disston D-8 “thumbhole” handle.
Some saws look good, this one is drop dead gorgeous. This is a Disston D-8 rip saw, “thumbhole” handle, 28″, 5 1/2 tpi, 1896-1917. This saw is a great example of the best of the Disston thumbhole rip saws. The pre-1918 handle has a fine attention to shape that makes it the most comfortable of the thumbhole handles to use and features a fresh linseed oil finish and a slightly textured spar urethane clearcoat for maximum
durability and good grip. The blade is clean and freshly sharpened with a faded
but still readable etch. You won’t find a better looking, better working, or more
comfortable rip saw than this one!
Atkins.
This is an Atkins 26″, 8 tpi, crosscut handsaw. Not sure what model this one is, as with most Atkins saws, the etch has disappeared entirely from the blade. The blade is super clean with a fresh sharpening job, the handle has been put back in shape with a linseed oil finish and a textured spar urethane top coat for excellent grip and durability. This is a great, high quality, vintage handsaw!
